Senior Backend Engineer — AHCIP

Remote (Canada) · Full-time · CAD $130K–$180K

You are the kind of engineer who reads the AHCIP Schedule of Medical Benefits for fun. You have shipped a production Python service that handles PHI under HIA and you know what an Information Manager Agreement is. You have built an LLM-prompted audit pipeline and watched it pass a privacy-officer review.

What you'll do

  • Own the v12 prompt — the rules, the trigger phrases, the post-validation canonicalization, the SOMB render layer.
  • Extend the auditor to handle H-Link submission, OHIP, and the 2027 PCP migration.
  • Be the technical half of every HIA / BAA conversation with a privacy officer.
  • Maintain the hash-chained audit trail and the re-verify-offline tooling.

What you need

  • 5+ years of Python with a FastAPI or Flask service in production (you've been on call).
  • Hands-on with LLM-prompted structured output (litellm, instructor, or roll-your-own).
  • Comfortable reading a regulator's prose and turning it into code that satisfies it.
  • Canadian work authorization (we are not yet sponsoring).

Senior Biller — AHCIP / SOMB Subject Matter Expert

Remote (Alberta preferred) · Part-time or full-time · CAD $90–$120K pro-rated

You are a senior AHCIP biller. You have run a biller's desk for at least 5 years at a clinic that submits more than 2,000 AHCIP claims per month. You know the SOMB better than the physicians you bill for. You have seen every modifier-25 mistake and know which ones the auditor misses.

What you'll do

  • Review the v12 ruleset once a month and flag new patterns from your own day-to-day work.
  • Co-design the per-clinic F1 widget with the engineering team so it reflects what billers actually use.
  • Co-author the cold-outreach copy with the founder so it sounds like a biller wrote it (because one did).
  • Run the first 60-day pilot on a real Alberta clinic alongside the biller on-site.

What you need

  • 5+ years billing for an Alberta clinic, PCN, or hospital family-medicine department.
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and the AHCIP SOMB PDF (you've already got the digital copy).
  • Direct, plain-English writing style. The privacy officer is not your audience; the biller is.
